About

Out of the 8.1 billion population around the world, how many have got to view our Earth orbit from space? Only a few hundred astronauts, 622 precisely, from 44 nations as of May 2022 (Wikipedia). But when we see our dear blue planet in those rare photographs from space, what comes to our mind is the beautiful, one of a kind, fragile planet that we all earthlings call home. Do we see any of the boundaries, political or whatsoever? We don’t. So what the earthlings have is just one common home for all of us.

Around the world, we have borne witness to catastrophic wars, incessant violence, unrest, and clashes among different sets of people with diverse backgrounds yielding more suffering for common people. Our diversity isn’t a momentary thing, through thousands of years of complex exchanges and with a variety of contributing factors, we came to where we stand now. So, don’t you think this should be a cause to celebrate rather than issue to fight over? Not just cultural or ethnic diversity, the unique biodiversity flourishing around the planet also is a something to draw inspiration from. Peaceful co-existance and symbiosis, however cliche they may sound, are something to learn from the preciuos biodiversity across the planet. We need them to sustain more than they need us, humans.
